How delicious can a sparkling wine be? Well, as delicious as this Blanc de Blancs from Raventós i Blanc. Beautiful on the nose with flowers, apple and citrus. A hint of smokiness and a taste that is fresh and lively, but at the same time beautifully round and soft with fine bubbles. A long fresh finish with some nuttiness. What a pleasure to enjoy this as an aperitif, on festive occasions, with classic tapas, Iberico ham, or of course seafood.
 
Raventós i Blanc was once a Cava producer, but left DO Cava in 2012 due to disagreements over quality. Since then they have used the name Conca del Riu Anoia, a very small geographical area between the Anoia and Foix rivers in the east of Penedes. Here Pepe Raventós makes top quality sparkling wines.
